Nalgonda: A young man and a girl jumped into the left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar Project at Haliya in an apparent suicide bid and the local people pulled out the minor girl, but the youngman also a minor got washed away in the swirling waters.

The duo, whose names ate being withheld as they are minors, jumped into the canal at Haliya at 10 am.

Noticing it, the locals saved the girl, but the boy was washed away in the canal.

Haliya Sub-Inspector Kranthi Kumar informed that the minor lovers belong to Narlanga thanda of P A Pally mandal. They resorted to the act as their parents opposed their love.
