Physical directors and physical education teachers of TGSWREIS colleges in Hyderabad have urged the State government not to burden them with non-core duties such as caretaker or warden roles. In a representation to Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman, they said additional responsibilities beyond their job chart are causing burnout, health risks and reducing the quality of sports training.

The Congress government in Telangana is facing criticism over its Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP), which allows conversion of industrial lands within the Outer Ring Road.
