Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The eleventh Formation Day of Telangana State was celebrated with grandeur across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Monday.
Md Ali Shabir and Harakara Gopal, advisors to the Telangana government; Rajaiah Siricilla, chairman of the Finance Commission; and Banda Prakash, deputy chairman of the Legislative Council, unfurled the tricolour to mark the occasion in Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts, respectively.
They paid floral tributes to the heroes of the Telangana statehood movement and recalled their sacrifices.
Ali stated that the government was giving paramount importance to women’s welfare. He cited several initiatives, including free bus travel for women, subsidised LPG cylinders at ₹500, the Indiramma housing scheme, and Mahila Shakti canteens.
He claimed that crop loans of 25 lakh farmers had been waived, creating a historic milestone in the country. He also said Telangana had become a beacon for the nation by conducting a caste census.
He noted that Telangana, achieved through years of struggle, is now progressing on multiple fronts. He urged everyone to actively participate in the state’s development journey. Glittering cultural programmes captivated the audience. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the best-performing officials from various departments.
MP Peddapalli Vamshikrishna, G. Nagesh, local legislators, Collectors Rajarshi Shah, Kumar Deepak, Abhilasha Abhinav, and Venkatesh Dothre; Superintendents of Police Akhil Mahajan, Dr. Janaki Sharmila, A. Bhaskar, and D.V. Srinivas Rao; along with many other district officials, took part in the celebrations.
