Telangana’s Bani Brata Majee tops JEE Main in State

Hyderabad: Only one student from Telangana secured top score in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main session 1 results, which were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday.
Bani Brata Majee from Telangana secured 100 NTA score in the paper-I (BE/BTech) of the entrance test and stood top in the State. Overall, 14 students in the country secured 100 NTA score. A girl from Andhra Pradesh, Sai Manogna Guthikonda, who secured 100 NTA, score has been adjudged overall topper among the female candidates.
Prior to announcing the results, the NTA released the final keys for the entrance tests conducted for the BE/BTech programmes, dropping 12 questions.
A total of 13,11,544 candidates registered and 12,58,136 appeared for the JEE Main session 1, which was conducted on January 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29 in 618 centres in 304 cities, including 15 cities outside India. The NTA has not declared scores of 39 candidates as they were found indulging in unfair means practices.
The JEE Main 2025 session 2 is scheduled to be held between April 1 and 8. The registration process is currently underway. The last date to register is February 25 (9 pm) and fees can be paid up to 11.50 pm on the same day. After both sessions of JEE Main 2025 for paper 1, the rank of the candidates will be released taking into consideration the best of the two scores.
The JEE Main is conducted for admissions to NITs, IIITs and other government funded central technical institutions in the country. The top 2.50 lakh scorers in JEE Main are given eligibility to appear for the JEE Advanced for admissions to IITs.
