Hyderabad: Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the real estate and professional services sector recorded a 15.4 per cent growth rate in the financial year 2024–25.
The construction sector alone grew by 11.97 per cent, contributing nearly Rs.80,000 crore to Telangana’s economy, he said, after inaugurating a property show here on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said certain vested interests were deliberately spreading false propaganda. “I urge them to open their eyes and look at the actual data,” he said.
Real estate currently accounts for 24.9 per cent of the State’s service economy. As of now, 9,744 projects are registered under RERA. These were not mere numbers, but a factual rebuttal to claims that the sector was slowing down under the Congress government, the Minister asserted.
Citing the Knight Frank India report, he noted that in February 2025 alone, 5,900 homes were registered in Hyderabad. Properties valued at Rs.1 crore and above accounted for 18 per cent of all registrations, with the annual growth rate in this premium segment standing at an impressive 58 per cent, Sridhar Babu said.
