Telangana’s Gadipalli Prashanth to lead India in World Paravolleyball World Cup 2025
Telangana’s Gadipalli Prashanth has been appointed captain of the Indian men’s team for the 2025 World Paravolleyball World Cup in Fort Wayne, USA. A dedicated player, Prashanth has represented India at the 2023 ParaVolley World Cup in Cairo
Hyderabad: Gadipalli Prashanth, hailing from Mailaram village in Rayaparthi Mandal, Warangal District, Telangana, is set to showcase Telangana’s sporting talent on the global stage once again as he has been named captain of the Indian men’s team for the World Paravolleyball World Cup, to be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, from October 12 to 18, 2025.
Prashanth, the eldest son of GadipalliVenkatayya and Somakka, is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Chaitanya (Deemed) University, Hyderabad. He is also serving as a Tax Assistant (Sports Quota) in the Income Tax Department, Mumbai.
Representing Telangana in Sitting Volleyball for the past 10 years, Prashanth has made a name for himself through consistent performances at the national level. Despite facing financial hardships, his dedication and perseverance have kept his sporting dreams alive. He has participated in five national-level tournaments, earning recognition for his exceptional skills.
In 2023, Prashanth represented India in the World ParaVolley World Cup (Men & Women Championship) held in Cairo, Egypt.
Prashanth expressed his happiness and gratitude for being given the opportunity to lead the Indian team in this prestigious international event, where teams from across the world will participate.
Coaches SingarapuBabu and Nageshwar Rao, along with members of the Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS), TelanganaPara Sports Association, and the Paralympic Committee of India, congratulated Prashanth on his remarkable achievement.
