Telangana’s N Pravallika wins relay gold at Asian Under-23 Championships

Hyderabad: N Pravallika of Telangana made India proud as she was part of the Indian women’s 4 x 400m relay team that won a historic gold medal at the Asian Under-23 Athletics Championships in China.
India’s quartet of Shravani Sangle, Sandra Mol Sabu, Pravallika and Nofisa clinched gold in 3:33.62s with a dominant performance.
Hosts China and Kazakhstan settled for silver and bronze respectively.
Sandra’s brilliant second leg gave India a decisive lead before Pravallika and Nofisa brought home a memorable victory.
Pravallika, a student of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS), along with Shravani Sangle, Sandra Mol Sabu and Nofisa, clinched the honours.
TGSWREIS chairman Dr Rama Laxman, president Narsaiah, general secretary Chander and others congratulated Pravallika on her outstanding achievement.
Poojitha picked for NIS
Meanwhile, another Telangana girl, S Poojitha, a senior national kabaddi player from TSWRRDC (Khammam – Kabaddi Academy), has been selected for the regular NIS diploma course in sports coaching at SAI (Bengaluru).
Poojitha is a postgraduate from Warangal. She studied Intermediate in Yerrupalem and a degree in Kothagudem.
She is the second candidate from Telangana to be selected for the NIS Diploma in kabaddi.
The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree & Junior College PDs and PETs Association congratulated Poojitha on her selection.
