Telangana’s PJTSAU renews MoU with Kansas State University after 12 years
Partnership will focus on digital agriculture, AI-based technologies, and training programmes for students and scientists, further strengthening the institutions’ long-standing collaboration dating back to 1964

Hyderabad: After a gap of 12 years, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) on Wednesday renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kansas State University, USA.
Under the renewed agreement, Kansas State University will support research initiatives at PJTSAU’s newly established Digital Agriculture Centre and Natural Resources and Environment Centre. The collaboration will also focus on developing artificial intelligence-based agricultural technologies.
Kansas State University will offer training programmes for PJTSAU’s undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as scientists, ranging from three to six months in their respective fields. Specialised training in advanced farming practices and emerging agri-technologies will also be provided to students, faculty, and researchers.
PJTSAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Aldas Janaiah highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two institutions, which began in 1964 when the university was first established. He noted that Kansas State University had contributed significantly to human resource development, including facilitating PhD opportunities for 17 professors.
Kansas State University Crop Research Institute Director Prof V Varaprasad and PJTSAU Registrar Dr GE Ch Vidyasagar were also present at the event.
