Telangana’s Praneeth achieves IM title

Hyderabad: Telangana chess player Vuppala Praneeth achieved his third IM norm to become the seventh State player to achieve the IM title on Wednesday.
The 15-year-old from Allagadapa village from Miryalaguda Mandal,Nalgonda won the mandatory third IM norm, rating points and his first gm norm during the Vezerkepzo GM Round Robin tournament in Budapest.
He competed in the chess tournaments in Armenia in October, Budapest in Hungary in November, Spain in December, Ellobregatt and Sunway Sitges, Lorca Tournaments in Ital in January. He then achieved his second IM norm in Vergani Cup in February in Serbia where he played three tournaments from March 5 to 15 in Hungary.
