Telangana’s Sirpur (U) mandal continues to shiver at 8.1 degrees Celsius

Farmers forced to take up agriculture activities such as spraying pesticides and harvesting the cotton crop after 10 am

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Sirpur (U) mandal centre continued to reel under severe cold conditions for the past few days. It saw a minimum temperature of 8.1 degrees Celsius on Friday.

While Ginnedhari village in Tiryani mandal registered 9.2 degrees Celsius, Kerameri mandal, Jainoor, Asifabad, Dahegaon, Sirpur (T), Bejjur, Rebbena, Wankidi, Lingapur, Kagaznagar and Chintalamanepalli mandals recorded the minimum temperature anywhere between 11 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature of Arli (T) village in Bheempur plummeted to 8.2 degrees Celsius as against 8.7 degrees Celsius witnessed on Thursday. Jainad, Bela, Mavala, Adilabad Rural, Talamadugu, Boath, Tamsi and Adilabad mandals witnessed below 10 degrees Celsius. Neradigonda, Bazarhathnoor, Indervelli, Gudihathnoor, Sirikonda and Narnoor mandals registered somewhere between 10 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius.

Farmers are forced to take up agriculture activities such as spraying pesticides and harvesting the cotton crop after 10 am. People from all walks of life, especially elderly and children, are struggling to withstand the cold temperatures. They are keeping their bodies warm using woolen sweaters and making bonfires with the help of timber logs.
