Karimnagar: Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that Telangana had produced the highest quantity of paddy in the Yasangi season, with the Centre recognizing Telangana as the highest paddy-producing state in the country.
The season saw 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy produced across 60 lakh acres, he said.
Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar, conducted a meeting with MLAs, MLCs, and officials from the erstwhile Karimnagar district to discuss Indiramma houses, Bhu Bharathi, paddy procurement, and Vanakalam preparations on Thursday.
He mentioned that procurement of paddy had reached its final stage. This time, the procurement was completed well in advance, he claimed, adding that as of May 28 this year, 67 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been procured across the state.
