Tella Sakamoto Foundation announces $100,000 grant for OUCE Mining Engineering Building
The Tella Sakamoto Foundation, USA, has announced a $100,000 grant for a Mining Engineering building at OUCE. The first instalment of Rs 40 lakh was released through the alumni association, with additional support from SCCL for infrastructure development and facilities.

Hyderabad: The Tella Sakamoto Foundation, USA, has announced a US $100,000 fund for construction of a building for the Department of Mining Engineering at Osmania University College of Engineering (OUCE). The funding will support the construction of modern classrooms, laboratories, research facilities, and advanced infrastructure for the department.
As the first instalment under this commitment, a cheque of Rs 40 lakh was handed over to Telangana State Education Welfare and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGEWIDC) through the Alumni Association of OUCE, here on Thursday.
OU Vice Chancellor Prof Kumar Molugaram appreciated T Gopal Rao, an alumnus from the first batch of Mining Engineering at OUCE, who is instrumental in initiating and facilitating generous funding from the Tella Sakamoto Foundation.
Earlier, the Department received Rs 10 lakh from the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for the construction of the Mining Engineering department.
OUCE Principal Prof P Chandrasekhar thanked Tella Sakamoto Foundation and Gopal Rao for the initiative and continued support for his alma mater. He also conveyed appreciation to SCCL for their support.
He assured that the funds will be utilised transparently and efficiently for the timely completion of the new building, which will greatly enhance academic standards and research capabilities in Mining Engineering.
