Telugu actress files cybercrime complaint over online harassment
A Telugu film actress has filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police alleging harassment and defamatory posts from an Instagram account targeting her and her family. Police registered a case and have begun efforts to identify the person operating the account.
Hyderabad: A popular actress from the Telugu film industry has lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police alleging online harassment and defamatory posts on social media.
In her complaint, the actress stated that an Instagram account named “Purple Crayon00” has been posting abusive comments and objectionable content targeting her and her family members.
She alleged that the account has been repeatedly sharing posts aimed at damaging her reputation and personal life.
The complainant further claimed that the individual behind the account used vulgar language in comment sections and circulated content questioning her character and moral values.
She requested the police to identify the person operating the account, take strict legal action against them, and ensure that the offensive posts are removed.
Based on her complaint, a case has been registered under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Sections 78 and 79 of the BNS. Officials have begun an investigation. Police said efforts are underway to trace the person behind the Instagram account.
