Hyderabad: Director and writer N Sai Balaji Prasad breathed his last, battling the Covid-19 at TIMS, Gachibowli here on Monday. He was 57.
Sai Balaji Prasad had provided the screenplay to the film ‘Bavagaru Bagunnara?’ which came in 1998, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi and Rambha. The movie, which was produced by Nagendra Babu under the banner Anjana Productions, was a runaway hit at the box office.
A native of Tirupati, Sai Balaji gained experience in filmmaking under Telugu senior director Ravi Raja Pinisetty. Later, he directed films like ‘Orey Thammudu’, and ‘Sivaji’ starring late actor Real Star Srihari. He had made several television daily soaps in Telugu — ‘Siri’, ‘Aparanji’ and ‘Halahalam’.
Sai Balaji is survived by wife Gauri and daughter Sneha Pujitha. Several Telugu actors and personalities from Telugu television industry expressed shock over his demise.
