Dubai: A young Telugu Gulf NRI lost his life in an alleged accidental gun misfire incident in Lebanon.

26-year-old Yalla John David, a native of Kalla Mandal in West Godavari district, was working as a laboure with an influential Qatari family in Qatar for some time where he was assigned a cleaning job. He was frequenting Lebanon along with his employer and was in Lebanon for the last few months, according to family sources. The tragic incident occurred when David was cleaning household items including the firearm last week, they added.

The incident appeared to be an accidental misfire as per primary information that the family received and passed it to Indian embassies in Qatar and Lebanon, they said.

In such death cases, Indian missions abroad seek investigation reports from local authorities to ascertain the true cause behind death to provide a comprehensive information of the circumstances leading to it to the families. Considering the fragile situation in Lebanon and the ongoing conflict, it may take some time to complete formalities and repatriate the mortal remains of David back home, the sources said.
