Telugu student critical after being shot multiple times in US

Hyderabad: A Telugu youngster, Mohan Sai Pothugunta, is in critical condition after being shot multiple times while sitting in his car in East Memphis, Tennessee, US on Thursday.
According to media reports quoting the Memphis Police Department, Mohan was sitting in his friend’s car outside an apartment building in East Memphis around 11.30 pm on Thursday. Police said a gunman approached him at this time.
Two shots were fired through the front passenger window, hitting Mohan in his shoulder and upper arm. Mohan is said to have drove off immediately and reached a Valero gast station in Highland, from where he dialled 911. First responders arrived and rushed him to the hospital where he is in critical condition, media reports said.
Meanwhile, responding to a post by Sujana Peram on gofundme.com, financial support is pouring in for Mohan.
“I am Sujana Peram, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support. My beloved brother, Mohan Sai Pothugunta has been severely injured in a shooting incident in Memphis, Tennessee. This unexpected and tragic event has left our family devastated and in urgent need of assistance. Mohan Sai is fighting for his life after sustaining critical injuries from multiple gunshots. He is currently receiving intensive medical care, and we are praying for his recovery. As his sister, I am reaching out to our community for help during this unimaginably difficult time,” the post read, and has garnered about US$ 15000 so far.
Police said there was no word yet on a possible suspect. Further details are awaited.
