Telugu university to launch full-fledged Magic curriculum next academic year
Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University will launch a full-fledged magic curriculum from the next academic year. The announcement was made during National Magicians Day at NTR Kalāmandir, celebrating P C Sorcar’s birth anniversary and empowering students through self-employment opportunities.

Hyderabad: In a unique initiative to boost the art of magic, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University will introduce a full-fledged curriculum on Magic starting the next academic year.
Making this announcement during the ‘National Magicians Day Celebrations’ held at NTR Kalāmandir, Nampally, the Vice Chancellor of Telugu University, Acharya Velidanda Nityananda Rao, said that the new curriculum would formalise magic as an academic discipline.
Registrar Acharya Kotla Hanumantha Rao highlighted the success of the university’s existing nine-year-old magic course in fostering self-employment.
Noted magician and course director Samala Venu reminded the gathering that the day commemorates the birth anniversary of the legendary P C Sorcar.
The event, jointly organised by the Department of Folk Arts and the Magicians Academy of India, was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council, Gutha Sukender Reddy.
The programme concluded with certificate distribution to diploma graduates and a series of mesmerising performances that captivated the audience.
