Hyderabad: The Stockton Hindu Cultural and Social Centre in Stockton, California was initiated with an intention to establish a temple for the convenience of in and surrounding Hindus.
Initially founded with nine devotees from India and Fuji, the founder, former president, and the present vice-president Raghunatha Reddy said their contributions took two acres of land in July 2009 and converted mobile homes to a temporary temple and every festival was conducted in a religious manner. The organization based on Sanathana Dharma was intended to provide a place for prayer and spiritual and ritual facilities to the local Hindus. In the course of time, it became an organization with more than 500 members making it a universal family.
Initiated on May 12, 2013 with a bhumi pooja, the temple is now ready to be opened on the auspicious muhurtha with events of Kumbabishekam and Prana Pratistha. The temple has idols of Shiva, Balajii, Nava Ganapathi, Durga Devi, Shirdi Sai Baba, Ram Darbar, Radha Krishna, Bhudevi, Sridevi, Anjaneya Swamy and Nava Grahas. The Venkateshawaraparivaram idol was provided by TTD, the Sai Baba idol was procured from Mumbai and other the idol swere from Rajasthan.
SSHC invites devotees to visit along with their families and experience the Prana Prathista and get Veda Panditha’s blessings and theertha prasadas. Shri Shri Vasudevananda Swami of the Naidupeta ashram, Memphis Acharyulu, Yoga Brahma Sri Satyanarayana and other spiritual personalities are attending the event. Netron Milnam will be conducted under the supervision of Stapati Shri Shiva SubramanyanBalakumar of Chennai and BalakumarVedeshwaram.
Including a Yoga centre, the temple has a total of 12,000 square feet. Everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided.
