Hyderabad: TRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy on Wednesday said that BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind faced the wrath of farmers since he failed to fulfil his promise of setting up turmeric board during the Parliament elections in 2019. Arvind should tender an apology for levelling accusations against farmers in the district, Reddy said.
The farmers in Nizamabad district expressed displeasure over Arvind and registered protest against him during his visit since he failed to set up the board even after completion of three years as an elected representative, the TRS MLA said at a press conference here.
Reddy alleged that Arvind was calling farmers goons for questioning him about the bond paper which he signed with a promise to establish the board. It was not only in Telangana but across the country that the elected representatives belonging to the BJP were facing the ire of farmers, he said. The people in the district taught a fitting lesson to the Congress for failing to protect the interests of red jowar farmers during its rule in the united Andhra Pradesh and now the BJP MP would face similar situation for failing to fulfil his election promise, Reddy said.
Welcoming the decision of Arvind to contest from Armoor Assembly constituency during next elections, Reddy said he would defeat him in the elections and ensure that he won’t get deposit. Reddy said that State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar should put pressure on the leaders in Delhi in getting turmeric board instead of making remarks against the TRS. He thanked the Chief Minister, TRS working president KT Rama Rao, MLC K Kavitha and Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy for appointing him as the district unit party president.
