Tense situation at Bhongir collectorate as farmers denied permission to protest

JAC of land losers is demanding an upward revision in compensation or a realignment of the road to spare their lands from acquisition for Regional Ring Road project.  

Bhongir: As part of the intensified agitation by farmers losing land for the Regional Ring Road, they called for a protest demonstration at the Bhongir collectorate on Sunday.

The JAC of the land losers, backed by the BRS, BJP and CPM, is demanding an upward revision in the compensation or a realignment of the road to spare their lands from acquisition.

The police rejected permission for the protest and dismantled the arrangement at the protest camp adding to the tension in the area.

The surroundings of the Collectorate witnessed heavy police deployment.
