Tension at Dilsukhnagar temple after attack on deity idol

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the Sri Santoshi Mata Temple in Dilsukhnagar after a man allegedly attacked the idol of the goddess, triggering protests by devotees and Hindu organisations on Friday.
According to information available, the incident occurred in the morning when the priest was performing rituals inside the sanctum sanctorum. The unidentified man allegedly entered the temple carrying sticks and threw them at the idol.
Alert devotees immediately caught the man and handed him over to the police. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced on social media and is being widely circulated.
Following the incident, devotees and members of Hindu organisations gathered at the temple and staged a protest, demanding action against the alleged perpetrator and enhanced security arrangements at the temple.
The temple priest also raised concerns over the entry of people from other faiths into the temple premises.
Police are investigating the circumstances and motive behind the alleged attack.
