Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed last night at ESI Hospital, Erragadda, after locals objected to the allotment of government land located in a prime area for a graveyard. The incident came to light following levelling work at the site with bulldozers.

A video of the heated argument between two groups over the government land allotment by the Congress party went viral.

The BJP alleged that the government attempted to build a graveyard on land in Erragadda that was allocated for a hospital. It said construction work for the graveyard was initiated at night using bulldozers, and claimed it was another example of how low the Congress would stoop for votes.

The party also referred to a recent instance in which land belonging to the Ministry of Defence was allocated for a graveyard, and said the Army intervened and halted what it described as the Congress’s encroachment.
