Tension at Guru Nanak University after student death, campus property damaged
Mild tension was reported at Guru Nanak University in Ibrahimpatnam after a student was found dead in a hostel room. Some student leaders allegedly damaged campus property, prompting a police investigation into the incident.

Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Guru Nanak University at Ibrahimpatnam, after some student union leaders damaged furniture and other articles on the campus following the alleged suicide of a student.
According to K P V Raju, ACP Ibrahimpatnam, a student, Amunda Ram, a student of CSE course, went into his room in the college hostel at around 11 am. “Ram, after going into the room, latched the door from inside. On suspicion, his friends tried to open the door and later informed the hostel warden, who broke open the door. Ram was found hanging,” said ACP Ibrahimpatnam.
After coming to know about the incident, some student leaders rushed to the institution and, after barging into the premises, damaged the furniture. The police are trying to ascertain the reasons that prompted the student to end his life. The police have seized the mobile phone of Ram for investigation.
A case is registered and the body is shifted to local hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
