Rajanna Sircilla: Tension prevailed at the Sircilla MLA’s camp office on Monday when Congress activists attempted to place a photograph of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inside BRS legislator KT Rama Rao’s office.

Police used mild force to bring the situation under control and pacify both Congress and BRS workers. A few individuals sustained minor injuries during the lathi charge.

The issue of protocol violation has been a controversy in the constituency for quite some time now. A BRS worker posted a message in a local WhatsApp group, warning officials to halt their programmes until the photograph of local MLA K.T. Rama Rao was printed on the official programme flex banners.

In response, a Congress activist challenged the warning by declaring the intention to place the Chief Minister’s photograph inside the MLA’s camp office. Following this, ruling party workers arrived at the MLA’s office carrying portraits of Revanth Reddy. Upon learning of this, BRS activists also gathered at the scene. Both groups raised slogans against each other.

Anticipating unrest, senior police officials deployed a large force at the site. Officers attempted to prevent both groups from clashing. As the situation escalated, police used mild force to disperse the crowd. Later, both BRS and Congress workers were taken to the police station.
