Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in Kuntloor under Hayathnagar Police Station limits on Wednesday after officials from Hydraa allegedly attempted to carry out a demolition drive following complaints of road encroachment in a gated community.
According to information available, residents of a gated community had reportedly encroached upon a road, prompting affected individuals to lodge a complaint with authorities. Hydraa officials reached the spot with machinery to remove the alleged encroachments.
However, the situation escalated when colony residents gathered at the entrance and prevented officials from entering the premises. They opposed the demolition, leading to a heated stand-off at the gate.
Officials remained firm, stating that the encroachments would be cleared at any cost. The confrontation resulted in a tense situation that continued for over two hours, creating a high drama and panic situation in the area.
A large police force was deployed at the spot to prevent untoward incident, even as Hydraa personnel reportedly continued with the demolition process.
