Tension gripped Siddipet on Wednesday after Congress and BJP workers clashed over the alleged burning of a flex banner of Prime Minister Narendra Modi near the Gandhi statue.

Siddipet: Tension prevailed in Siddipet as Congress and BJP workers clashed over the alleged burning of a flex banner of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Gandhi statue in Siddipet town on Wednesday.
The BJP leaders in the town took out a Seva Jyothi Kalasa Yatra, covering some key junctions like Konda Bhudevi Gardens, the Old bus station, and Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, when Congress leaders allegedly attempted to burn the flexi banner of Modi at the statue.
The BJP leaders immediately intervened which led to a scuffle between the rival parties. Subsequently, the police intervened in the matter and dispersed members of both groups. The incident triggered tension in the area for some time near the Gandhi statue.
