Tension prevails as activists of Congress, BJP clash in Mancherial
BJP members staged a sit-in at the polling station, protesting against the alleged assault on party leader Kamalakar Rao by local Sub-Inspector N Sugunakar Rao. Upon hearing about the incident, BJP leader V Raghunath Rao rushed to the site and joined the protest, demanding action against Sugunakar for allegedly manhandling the party leader.

Mancherial: Tension prevailed for a while when activists of the Congress allegedly assaulted the members of the BJP at a polling station of MLC elections in Naspur mandal centre on Thursday.
Members of the BJP staged a sit-in at the polling station protesting against a local Sub-Inspector N Sugunakar Rao’s alleged assault against Kamalakar Rao, a leader of the BJP. Upon learning about the incident, the party’s leader V Raghunath Rao rushed to the station and joined the agitators. He demanded action against Sugunakar for man-handling the leader of the party.
Meanwhile, some activists of the Congress reached the spot and picked up an argument with the members of the BJP. They then beat the members of the BJP for staging the sit-in. The members of the BJP retaliated and attacked the activists, resulting in a tension. Still, the polling continued without any breaks.
However, policemen, present at the poling station pacified the two warring groups and brought the situation under control.
