Tensions erupt as HYDRAA demolishes shops in Manikonda despite residents’ protests
The apartment complex residents complained about the high-handed behavior of the HYDRAA officials, as they refused to even listen to them and went ahead to demolish the structure.

Hyderabad: Amidst heavy police presence, authorities of Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) descended on Anuhar Raaga Apartments in Alkapuri colony, Manikonda on Thursday to demolish commercial establishments within the apartment complex.
The arrival of the demolition vehicles and senior officials from HYDRAA along with police, sparked tension as residents of Anuhar Apartments protested, claiming that to have obtained necessary permissions from the local revenue authorities. The apartment complex residents complained about the high-handed behavior of the HYDRAA officials, as they refused to even listen to them and went ahead to demolish the structure.
However, based on reports, HYDRAA officials maintained that they had received complaints about deviations, setbacks, which necessitated demolitions. Commercial establishments including shops that are attached to the apartment complex were demolished by the teams of HYDRAA. Despite the action of HYDRAA, the shop owners, residential welfare association members and the builder of Anuhar Apartments, however, have continued to assert that necessary permissions were obtained and that there were no construction related violations.
