TG FDC launches ‘Young Filmmaker Challenge 2026 Season 2’
The TG FDC has launched Season 2 of its Young Filmmaker Challenge ahead of Bathukamma. The competition includes sections for short films, Telangana folk songs, welfare scheme videos and articles, with entries open until September 23.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TG FDC) has officially announced the launch of the “Young Filmmaker Challenge-2026 Season-2” competition in celebration of the upcoming Bathukamma festival, FDC Managing Director G Mukunda Reddy said in a press release.
This year’s competition introduces three new sections focusing on Telangana folk songs, inspirational videos on State government welfare schemes, and articles. The initiative aims to encourage creative talent among youth while deepening public understanding of Telangana’s culture, heritage, and government welfare initiatives.
Participants must ensure that short films do not exceed a runtime of 3 minutes and songs are restricted to a maximum of 5 minutes, with all videos required in 4K resolution. Interested applicants can submit their entries by September 23, 2026, via email at youngfilmmakerschallenge@gmail.com or by uploading them through the FilmFreeway website.
An expert jury will review all submissions to select the winners, and participants can contact 8125834009 via WhatsApp for any further information. Winners will be honored with cash prizes, certificates of appreciation, and mementos at a grand prize distribution ceremony scheduled for October 18, the press release said.
