Hyderabad: The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TG PCB), along with Torrent Gas, observed the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies.

Addressing the event, TG PCB joint chief environmental engineer, Srinivas Reddy, emphasised that clean air is not merely an environmental objective but is fundamentally a public health, economic and development priority. “Industries should see investments in clean technology, public transport, energy efficiency and better waste management as development investments rather than merely compliance expenditure,” he said.

TG PCB senior environment scientist Dr D Prasad said blue skies should not be an occasional sight after rainfall or during a favourable meteorological episode, but they should be the outcome of sustained scientific management of emissions.

Torrent Gas representative Rambabu explained the PNG network and the benefits of the same towards reducing air pollution and improving the air quality.
