Hyderabad: The government polytechnics are giving their private counterparts a run for their money with 92 percent seats allotted in the TG POLYCET 2026 final phase counselling.

As per the final phase seat allocation released by the Technical Education department on Friday, 17,001 (92 percent) out of 18,538 seats in 59 government polytechnics were allotted to students, while only 54 percent out of 14,997 seats in 53 private polytechnic colleges had takers.

Several government polytechnics reported more than 90 percent seats allotment. This reflects students’ preference for government institutions for the academic year 2026-27. Overall, 112 institutions offered 33,535 seats and 25,111 (75 percent) were allotted to students who took part in the counselling.

Students who received a provisional seat allotment order must self-report online and pay the tuition fee on or before June 22. The provisional allotment order will automatically stand cancelled if candidates fail to pay the fee or self-report online before the deadline.

Further, provisionally allotted candidates should report at the allotted college physically on or before June 23, otherwise the allotted seat stands cancelled.

Candidates who report at the allotted college, if desired, can exercise options online for centralized internal sliding (change of branch within college) on June 27 and 28. Fee reimbursement is also applicable for the internal sliding round. For more information, visit the website https://tgpolycet.nic.in.
