TGHRC seeks reports on Nagarkurnool school food poisoning, fertility clinic malpractice

The Telangana Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of reports on food poisoning at a Gurukul school in Nagarkurnool and alleged unethical practices at fertility clinics in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam, seeking detailed reports from top State officials

Hyderabad: The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC), presided over by Justice Shameem Akther, has taken suo motu cognizance of reports about a food poisoning incident at the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule BC Welfare Gurukul School near Uyyalawada in Nagarkurnool district.

The Commission has sought a comprehensive report from Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on the incident by Monday.

The TGHRC has also taken suo motu cognizance of serious allegations reported in various newspapers on July 27 and 28 concerning illegal and unethical practices at the Universal Srushti Fertility Centre in Secunderabad and its associated clinics across Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam.

The Commission has called for a detailed report from the Principal Secretary, Health, Medical & Family Welfare Department, by Monday.
