TGHRC takes suo-motu cognizance of accident
The Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) has taken suo-motu cognizance of the Mirzaguda road accident that killed 19 people, citing repeated safety lapses as a violation of the Right to Life, and has ordered detailed reports from relevant authorities by December 15.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) on Tuesday has taken suo-motu cognizance of the tragic road accident near Mirzaguda in Chevella on the Hyderabad–Bijapur Highway, which claimed 19 lives after a gravel-laden tipper truck collided with a TGSRTC bus.
The Commission has observed that repeated fatal accidents on the same route highlight gross negligence in road safety measures, weak enforcement and infrastructural lapses, amounts to a violation of the Right to Life under Article 21 of the Constitution.
It further directed all the authorities concerned to submit factual and action-taken reports by December 15.
The Commission headed by Dr Justice Shameem Akther, Chairperson, has sought comprehensive reports from multiple departments, including Transport, Home, Mines and Geology, NHAI, the Ranga Reddy District Collector and TGSRTC.
