TGPSC bars candidates from wearing shoes for TGPCB recruitment exam

The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has issued instructions for candidates appearing for the assistant scientist recruitment examination for vacancies in the Telangana Pollution Control Board to wear only chappals and avoid shoes.

Hyderabad: Candidates who registered for the recruitment examination for assistant scientist vacancies in the Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) on Saturday have been barred from wearing shoes. They have been instructed to wear only chappals.

The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), which is holding the recruitment exam, has also advised candidates not to apply any external materials such as mehndi, tattoos etc., on their hands. This is to enable the capture of biometric information.

As many as 19,568 candidates have registered for the recruitment examination to be held at 68 centres across the State. Paper-I covering general studies and general abilities will be conducted from 10 am to 12.30 pm. Paper-II, Chemistry is scheduled from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.

Candidates will be allowed into the centres from 8.30 am to 9.30 am for the morning session and from 1 pm to 2 pm for the afternoon session. Early entry is to enable candidates to complete the biometric verification, photo capture and other formalities.

The TGPSC would collect biometric thumb impressions of candidates as a security measure to avoid impersonation. Along with the hall-ticket, candidates should carry only a black or blue-ink pen and an original valid photo identity card into the examination hall. All electronic gadgets, including mobile phones and calculators, are prohibited in the exam hall.

If any candidate is found carrying a mobile phone or any other electronic gadget, it will be confiscated and the candidate will be liable for debarment, the TGPSC warned. Other detailed instructions to candidates have been made available on the TGPSC website https://www.tgpsc.gov.in/.
