Hyderabad: The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGSCB) arrested 81 persons, including seven women, from five States in the country for their alleged involvement in different cyber crimes.

According to Shikha Goel, Director TGSCB, the critical aspect of the operation is to break the supply chain that enables cyber criminals to operate with freedom.

Among those arrested are a sales executive with a private bank involved in 106 cases, while two employees of different private banks involved in illegal financial activities.

“Facilitators who provide bank accounts, mobile numbers, SIM cards, and financial channels were identified and arrested during the operation. By arresting these persons, TGCSB aims to dismantle the ecosystem that supports large-scale financial fraud and ensure that such networks are deprived of tools they depend on,” said Shikha Goel.

Investigation officers have identified and frozen the multiple bank accounts linked to the accused, and the refund process for the victims is being initiated, she added.

Among those held, 28 are from Kerala, 23 – Maharashtra, 10 -Andhra Pradesh, 7 – Tamilnadu and 13 – Karnataka.

The police seized 84 mobile phones, 101 SIM cards, 89 bank passbooks and cheque books used in various fraudulent transactions.
