Hyderabad: To manage the festive travel rush during Sankranti festive season, the TGSRTC would be operating 6,431 special bus services, albeit with additional charges.
The corporation said that revised fares, up to 1.5 times the normal ticket price as permitted under a 2003 Government Order, will apply only to special buses operating on peak days. However, the regular services will continue to charge normal fares. The revised fares will be applicable only on January 9, 10, 12, 13, 18 and 19.
Under the State government’s Mahalakshmi Scheme, free travel for women will continue on Palle Velugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses, including those operated during the Sankranti festive period.
According to officials, passenger demand is expected to be high on January 9, 10, 12 and 13, while return travel is likely to peak on January 18 and 19. Additional buses will be deployed based on real-time demand to manage overcrowding. Special services will run from key congestion points in Hyderabad, including from MGBS, JBS, Uppal, LB Nagar, KPHB, Gachibowli, Aramghar and Bowenpally.
Passengers have been advised to book tickets in advance through the official website www.tgsrtcbus.in.
