Hyderabad: Ahead of Dasara festival, people in large numbers were seen heading towards their hometowns from the city, packing the bus stations and railway stations on Wednesday.
The rush which started on Tuesday itself, peaked today with more crowds thronging major bus stations, including Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station and Jubilee Bus Station, to take buses to their native places.
Also, families with children were seen flocking to Secunderabad, Nampally, Charlapalli, Kacheguda and Lingampalli railway stations to board trains. Despite the overcrowding causing inconveniences, the atmosphere was still lively, with a sense of anticipation and excitement among travelers.
To meet the increased demand, the TGSRTC had announced 7,754 special buses between September 20 and October 2. Of these, 377 buses will offer advance reservation facilities. Extra return services will run on October 5 and 6. The state transporter has set up several pick up points for outbound passengers from MGBS, JBS, LB Nagar, Uppal, Aramghar, Santosh Nagar and KPHB.
Passengers can book advance reservations for special buses through the official website www.tgsrtcbus.in. For more details, contact the TGSRTC call center numbers: 040-69440000 or 040-23450033.
Meanwhile, the SCR is also operating special trains to clear the rush during Bathukamma and Dasara festivities. Given the high volume of travelers, there is an increase in security checks and station authorities are ensuring safety by managing the crowds efficiently.
