Hyderabad: The winning alliance in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) recognised union elections will have to wait for the formal issuance of its recognition certificate, as the Labour Department reportedly did not complete the process on Saturday.
According to sources, the certificate was not issued to the winning alliance on October 17, and the formal proceedings are expected to take place on another date.
Joint Labour Commissioner Sunitha Gopal Das is associated with the election process, while the Labour Department is responsible for completing the formalities.
The delay comes after the keenly contested union elections, held last week, following a gap of nearly a decade, witnessed an impressive 98 per cent voter turnout.
Of the corporation’s 34,905 employees, as many as 34,182 exercised their franchise across 115 polling centres covering 97 depots.
