TGSRTC staff, passengers save girl from jumping off moving bus in Hyderabad
A TGSRTC conductor, driver and passengers helped save a minor girl who allegedly attempted to jump from a moving bus in Hyderabad. Their alertness helped identify her as a Telangana Minorities Residential Gurukul student and ensured she was handed over for counselling
Hyderabad: The alertness of a TGSRTC conductor, driver and fellow passengers helped save a minor girl who allegedly attempted to jump from a moving RTC bus on Tuesday.
According to TGSRTC, the girl, a student of the Telangana Minorities Residential Gurukul, boarded Bus No. 218 from Patancheru carrying only a Rs 10 note and without any footwear. Her unusual behaviour raised the suspicions of conductor Shekhar of Midhani Depot when he asked her to purchase a ticket.
Sensing that something was wrong, Shekhar alerted driver J.S. Kumar, and the duo kept a close watch on the student throughout the journey. At one point, the girl borrowed a fellow passenger’s mobile phone to make a call. Using the phone number she contacted, the RTC staff identified her as a Gurukul student.
After passengers were informed about the situation, the girl allegedly tried to jump from the rear exit of the moving bus. Alert passengers immediately intervened, prevented her from jumping and comforted her until the bus reached a safe location.
The girl was later handed over to Saifabad Police for counselling and further action.
TGSRTC officials appreciated the staff and passengers for their timely intervention, which averted a potential tragedy.
