TGSRTC strike ends after talks; bus services to resume from Saturday
The TGSRTC employees’ strike ended on Friday following successful talks with the Telangana government. With key demands addressed, bus services will resume from Saturday, bringing relief to commuters affected by disruptions in Hyderabad and across the State.
Hyderabad: In a major breakthrough, the strike by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) employees has come to an end following successful talks between the government and RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders on Friday.
The talks, led by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka along with a team of Ministers on Friday, concluded positively, paving the way for resumption of bus services across the State from Saturday morning.
According to sources, the government has agreed to several important demands put forward by the RTC Joint Action Committee. These include a 10% PRC (Pay Revision Commission) implementation, a positive move towards merger of RTC with the government, and a green signal for conduct of union elections. The RTC management has also agreed to address the remaining pending issues in due course.
The strike, which had severely disrupted public transport in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana over the past few days, had caused significant inconvenience to daily commuters.
The resumption of services is expected to bring much needed relief, especially to working professionals, women, students, and passengers who are majorly dependent on RTC services.
