Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Y Nagi Reddy on Saturday announced that the RTC strike has been withdrawn following successful talks between the State government and employees’ unions, with 100 per cent bus services resuming from the first shift across Telangana.

He said the discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere with the government on Friday leading to a consensus on key demands and the decision by employees to return to duty. “All depots will see normal operations from early morning, restoring public transport services”, he said.

According to the MD, the government has agreed in principle to the long-pending merger of RTC with the State government, with modalities to be finalised soon. It has also approved implementation of the 2021 pay revision (PRC).

He further stated that the government has given the green signal for revival of trade unions and conduct of recognition elections, with detailed procedures to be worked out shortly.

Expressing regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers during the strike, Nagi Reddy assured that 100 per cent bus services would be operated and urged commuters to plan their travel as usual.
