TGSRTC to operate 700 special buses round-the-clock during Ganesh immersion

TGSRTC will operate around 700 special buses round-the-clock during Ganesh idol immersion festivities in Hyderabad. Officials have deployed personnel at 44 key locations, set up a control room and stationed relief vehicles, camps, drivers and mechanics to manage the expected passenger rush.

Hyderabad: The TGSRTC has made extensive arrangements to ensure hassle free public transport during the Ganesh idol immersion festivities in Hyderabad, with around 700 special buses to operate round-the-clock for 24 hours from various parts of the city.

Special services will connect areas around Hussain Sagar with different routes across the city to cater to the heavy passenger rush.

Officials said to coordinate operations amid traffic diversions, RTC officials and controllers have been deployed at 44 key locations, while a dedicated control room has been set up at the zonal office to monitor passenger movement and bus operations.

Also, relief vehicles have been stationed at Old MLA Quarters, Indira Park and V.V. Statue for emergency assistance.

Special RTC camps have also been arranged at Khairatabad, Lakdi-ka-pul, Koti, Basheerbagh, Indira Park and AIR.

To attend to breakdowns, 113 drivers and 87 mechanics have been kept available at police stations and other strategic locations for emergency repairs.

City and interstate bus routes, including APSRTC and KSRTC services, will be diverted as per traffic police instructions.

TGSRTC said alternative operational plans have been put in place to ensure uninterrupted public transport even as immersion activities continue until Saturday morning.
