Hyderabad: In view of the forthcoming Bathukamma and Dasara festivities, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has made arrangements to operate 7,754 special buses across the State.

Of these, 377 buses will have advance reservation facilities and the special services will run from September 20 to October 2.

Since Saddula Bathukamma falls on September 30 and Dasara on October 2, passenger rush is expected to increase from September 27. Accordingly, extra buses will be deployed. For the return journey, additional services will be arranged on October 5 and 6, depending on demand, RTC authorities said.

Special buses will be operated from Hyderabad’s main bus stations – MGBS, JBS, CBS, along with high-demand points like KPHB Colony, Uppal ‘X’ road, Uppal Bus Stand, Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar, Aramghar, Santosh Nagar and other locations. These services will connect Hyderabad and Secunderabad not only with all parts of State, but also with Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

RTC officials said for Dasara special services, the State government has permitted a fare revision under GO No.16 to cover the minimum diesel costs of buses returning empty. This revised fare will apply only on buses running on September 20 and between 27 and 30, October 1, 5 and 6. Regular services on these days will continue with normal fares, without any change.

TGSRTC Managing Director V C Sajjanar said, “This year, we are operating 617 more special buses compared to last year. Special camps are being set up at busy boarding points like LB Nagar, Uppal, Aramghar, KPHB, and Santosh Nagar with basic facilities such as seating, drinking water, and public address systems.”

Supervisory officers will be deployed at busy locations and in coordination with police, transport, and municipal officials, steps are being taken to ensure safe travel for passengers.

Passengers can book advance reservations for special buses through the official website www.tgsrtcbus.in. For more details, contact the TGSRTC call center numbers: 040-69440000 or 040-23450033.
