Hyderabad: The TGSRTC management has appealed to its employees to refrain from participating in the ongoing strike, urging them not to be misled by unofficial calls circulating in media and on social platforms.

In an official statement issued on Wednesday, TGSRTC Managing Director Y Nagi Reddy said that the organisation remains committed to passenger service and employee welfare. He noted that discussions with employee unions are already underway through a committee comprising senior IAS officers, initiated in coordination with the Labour Department.

The management highlighted key legal provisions under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, stating that, as per Section 22(1)(d), going on strike while conciliation proceedings are pending before a Conciliation Officer is considered illegal. Currently, talks are in progress before the Joint Commissioner of Labour, and any strike action during this period would violate the law.

Warning of consequences, the management said employees participating in an illegal strike could face wage cuts and strict disciplinary action as per service rules, potentially impacting their careers and families.

It further urged workers and union leaders to resolve issues through dialogue and ensure uninterrupted public transport services. The corporation urged the staff to call off the strike and resume duties immediately.
