TGSWREIS revises college timings, reduces academic hours from 2026-27
The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Education Institutions Society (TSWREIS) has announced revised college timings, reducing academic hours from 8.45 am–4.45 pm to 9.30 am–4 pm from the 2026-27 academic year.

Hyderabad: In order to ease the daily routine of women students, the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Education Institutions Society (TGSWRIES) has shortened the academic hours, changing the college timings from 8.45 am – 4.45 pm to 9.30 am to 4 pm.
The new timings, which will reduce the college hours by one hour and 30 minutes, will be implemented from the academic year 2026-27.
As per new college timings circular, the wake-up time is scheduled for 5.30 am, with freshening up from 5.30 am to 6 am, followed by one hour ground activity such as exercise and yoga. Students will get one-hour personal time from 7 am to 8 am, followed by breakfast between 8 am and 8.30 am.
After self-study from 8.30 am to 9.15 am, students will have 15 minutes for life-saving group meetings and morning assembly from 9.30 am to 9.40 am. The instructional hours will begin at 9.40, with a break of 10 minutes at 11.30 am, and classes will continue till 1.30 pm. Following a 40-minute lunch break till 2.10 pm, the instructional hours will be held till 4 pm.
After self-study hours, ground activity and personal time, dinner will be served at 7 pm, followed by study hours from 8 pm to 9.30 pm and bed time at 10 pm.
Telangana Social Welfare Residential Teachers’ Association chairman Dr. Rama Laxman, association leaders Balaswamy and Kirti Ravi said the newly introduced degree timetable was designed keeping in view the needs of degree students. It would contribute to improving academic standards, enhancing teaching effectiveness, and ensuring the holistic development of students, they added.
