The documentary’s teaser reveals electrifying scenes, including the legendary reverse board battle between Hikaru Nakamura and Magnus Carlsen during Season 2. It is exclusively on YouTube to define GCL’s rise as the world’s first and largest franchise-based chess league.

PP Prachura, Co-owner and CEO of American Gambits, said, “American Gambits is proud to be the only team in the Global Chess League with its own team anthem and a dedicated documentary.”

“As a former international chess player, I understand how important it is to bring fans closer to the game—not just by showcasing moves on the board, but by sharing what happens behind the scenes and letting people connect with the personalities of their favourite chess players. Our goal is to make chess more accessible, engaging, and inspiring for everyone who loves the sport.”

As torchbearers of the chess revolution, American Gambits have set new benchmarks for excellence and sportsmanship. Founded by Prachura PP, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Venkat K Narayana, the team in Season 2 boasted a dynamic multicultural roster, including global luminaries such as Hikaru Nakamura, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Bibisara Assaubayeva, Elisabeth Pähtz, and Jonas Buhl Bjerre.
