Hyderabad: For PV Sindhu, the biggest honour at Tokyo Olympics will be when she becomes the flag-bearer for the country. “It is a proud moment to be the flag-bearer for the country in the Olympics. I am really excited as you will not get that opportunity again. This is the opportunity where you will be there,’’ said Sindhu on Saturday.

The Rio Olympic silver medallist who spoke at TedxYouth Virtual event hosted by Suchitra Academy, said this Olympics is different compared to the 2016 Games. “The pressure is higher this time because I have to live with it. I have to focused and composed.’’

Talking about her practice sessions at Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) Indoor Stadium and Suchitra Academy, she said life has become hectic. “I would like to thank the State Government and Suchitra Academy for my preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.’’

Sindhu said she is grateful to the Suchitra Academy for giving some sparring partners. “I play one against one, one against two or three. It all depends on my coach,’’ she said.

Sindhu also said that there will be a lot of emotions while playing for the country, particularly in the Olympics. “It is played after every four years (now five years) and therefore there is a lot of emotions attached to the country.’’

She said she will be leaving for Tokyo on July 17. “We have to be in the sports village five days before the competition.’’ added Sindhu.
