Theme parks, greenery to transform PVNR Marg
Elevated walkways, cycling tracks also planned at popular hangout near Hussain Sagar
Hyderabad: One of the city’s most popular hangout spots is getting all the more interesting and attractive. The Necklace Road, which has been renamed PV Narasimha Rao Marg, is now prepping up with more for visitors in the form of exclusive theme parks, more beautiful greenery and cycling tracks.
Two elevated walkways running into the Hussain Sagar are also being built on the Marg.
A recce around the Marg reveals that the complete stretch has changed in a major way. New roads and pavements, increased green cover, exclusive areas marked as parking spaces, islands in the lake and theme parks are some of the works recently taken up by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
Visitors coming from NTR Marg can spot former Prime Minister PV Narsimha Rao’s statue towards the right side at the entrance of the road. The statue will be unveiled on June 28.
After crossing the statue, people can spot the Love Hyderabad urban sculpture at People’s Plaza. The area is already a popular selfie spot for visitors. The road leading to PV Ghat, near the end of the Marg, has dozens of food stalls, restaurants and amusement parks on either side. To reduce the speed of the commuters, parking tiles have been laid on the middle of the roads.
Once the lockdown is lifted, apart from the street food people can enjoy their different cuisines in the drive-in restaurants, lake view restaurants spread across the PV Narasimha Rao Marg. Refurbished Go Karting track, exclusive kids play area and lake view seating arrangements at multiple locations have also enhanced the beauty of the road.
In the coming days, a Neera Café and exclusive amusement centre will come up on the stretch. The amusement centre is located near Sanjeevaiah Park and will have a unique theatre, Virtual reality (VR) games and roller coaster rides.
“The theatre is one of its kind. For instance, if there is a volcano scene being played, then the temperature of the hall automatically increases. Similarly if there is a snowfall scene, the temperature dips,” said an official from HMDA.
