Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday said that he would not allow communal violence in the city and asked people to stay united and ensure development.
Addressing a public meeting at Karwan here on Thursday evening, Asaduddin said that he had seen the communal violence and its destruction in its aftermath in 1980’s and 1990’s. “It only brought damage and ruined lives of the people. I give an assurance that during my life time I will see that there is no repeat of any communal skirmishes. The younger generation should stay in a friendly and positive ambience away from hatred,” he said drawing cheers from the gathering.
Asaduddin Owaisi said the previous generation carried scars of communal riots with them. “We don’t want such thing in the city as it affects the poor the most. Let all leave happily and preserve the brand image of Hyderabad,” he told the meeting.
