Hyderabad: If you are one of the few smartphone users having an operating system Android 4.0.4 and older version or if your iOS is older than 10, then you will not be able to access WhatsApp from November 1. As part of its new updates and safety features, the instant messaging app has removed support for some Android, iOS and KaiOS devices running on old OS versions.
The Facebook-backed platform will stop supporting a lot of old devices from November 1, which technically means that it will stop completely working on some devices. The best option is to get a new device which has the newer OS version that supports the app or users can back up their chat history before moving to the new device so as to retain all chats and media.
For the Android OS smartphones, any device that runs on Android 4.0.4 and older versions will not support WhatsApp. Some of the devices like Samsung Gaalxy S3 Mini, Galaxy SII, Optimus L5 Dual, LGs Lucid 2, Samsung Galaxy Trend II, Huawei’s Ascend G740, Sony’s Xperia Miro, Xperia Neo L and Xperia Arc S will stop supporting the app.
Similarly, the devices running on older than iOS 10 version will stop supporting the messaging platform and the devices include iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE (1st generation), among others.
